My Journey as a Surrogate

Setback :(

I had my saline ultrasound last week and it was a really easy/painless procedure. Unfortunately it was found that I have polyps on my uterine lining (think if it like a skin tag but a little bit bigger.. basically my uterine wall just has some extra balls of skin on it LOL). I could have had these things all along and conceived my children just fine with them, but since my IP's are investing so much into having IVF done on me, the RE wants the uterus in optimal condition since the polyps *could* interfere with implantation. So... now I have to go in and have a hysteroscopy (I'll be under twilight anesthesia and the polyps will be cut out). The crappy thing is that I'll have to go in for ANOTHER saline ultrasound some time after the hysteroscopy to make sure all is well in there. We might have to wait a full month after the procedure to have this done. =( Setbacks suck!!! We were *really* hoping to get in for transfer before the end of December. I hope we still can!

Oh, we're also in the middle of contracts. That part is no fun, but it's a necessary evil.

It's so hard to be patient through all of this, but I've learned that in the surrogacy world, patience is a necessity. You just never know what kind of bumps you're going to encounter along the way. When I first met my IP's back in July I had envisioned a September or October transfer.. now I'm just hoping for December!
